Chloe

Chloe is a gigantic movie buff (geek) with a particular love for spooky, zany, and downright weird cult classics. Remind you of anything?

She was first exposed to the brilliance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show when her friend Billy took her to a shadow cast production at the community college in Reno, Nevada at age 16. There were around 600 people in attendance yelling and throwing things at the screen while gorgeous people wearing next to nothing ran and danced up and down the aisles. Needless to say it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

After moving to NYC to learn how to make her own weird movies she discovered the New York cast and knew immediately that she wanted to get involved (though it took her about a year and a half to stop being a pussy and actually submit an application)

She is beyond excited to be on the cast and can’t wait to start this new adventure!

Yikes, yikes, baby!! I’m new at this. After making the great and terrible decision to go to a movie theater at midnight and watch my friend debut her Columbia, I realized I’d somehow managed to forget how much fun being around a theater is.

Let’s face it, I love sparkly things. And sci-fi. And tailcoats. And alien ray-guns. And I just had to get my hands back on some theater tech equipment or my soul might have withered up on the spot. So here I am working the lights, shouting ‘Slut’ and ‘Asshole’ at a tv screen, and staying out until 3 a.m. Just like I’m sure my ancestors would have wanted. I may not be made for the stage, but catch me most Fridays and Saturdays NPCing my way through Rocky Horror! Come talk to me! I have wares. (Yes, my wares are all memes).

When I was twelve I asked my dad to drive me to an audition. Our local theater was doing a production of Rocky Horror Picture Show and I had to be in it. there was this girl in my drama club who was also auditioning and I was probably in love with her. She was an older woman (thirteen and a half) and beautiful. My father absolutely refused, and as hormonal seventh graders often do, I told him he was ruining my life.

Fast forward to 2016, I got my heart broken, ran away to Europe, fell very much in love, drank a lot of wine, slept in a car, donated all my clothes and came home to my mom. I can't wait until I have my mid-life crisis.

My first weekend back in New York I was invited by the two grooviest people I know to come see Rocky, and so I came...over and over and over.

For some reason this huge bunch of weirdos saw potential in me so now I get to spend every weekend showing off my beautiful chubby body to strangers from all over the world with the people I love most in the world. It doesn't get much better than that.

I, Smol’ Greg, saw my first shadowcast in Cleveland when I was 16, but I become a regular Frankie fan until I got to NYC. I was immediately obsessed with NYC RHPS, and I joined almost right away. Starting on lights in February of 2016, I am so proud to be a regular, muscle-less Rocky. Rocky Lite, if you will. I’ve also had the absolute pleasure of jumping into the roles of Magenta and Janet, for midnight shows, and Frank and Brad for events and pre-shows. Eventually, I intend to get into the pants of every character.

Honestly, the best part of Rocky is the community. Having been in a cast for just a short while, it’s awesome how I openly I was welcomed into this disturbing club. Every single person I have met has been like a new best friend. I know that any time theres a Rocky friend anywhere, it’s guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience. I’m so happy to be in this cast; My gay ass loves every single moment he gets to be Smol’ Greg.

I first saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show because I was trying to impress a pretty girl so I went to go see her Columbia debut for NYC RHPS in May 2016. I was immediately obsessed with the show, and ended up going twice a week nearly every weekend - it was the most expensive date she never knew she was on. Now we're together.

I took awesome pictures for the cast for a few months, but then decided that it didn't suit my enormous ego - I'd much rather be onstage for people to berate.

Kyle

Kyle is a lazy piece of flesh who doesn’t like to submit their blurb about themselves for several months after they were due, however his willingness to drive cast mates home after a night to save them from shady people on public transportation is why we keep him around.

For years I was hounded by friends and family alike to go out to a showing of Rocky Horror, and the more that I was urged on by friends, the less I wanted to go. I was a rebellious person who only really wanted to do things on his own time back then, I guess. I had seen the movie in bits and pieces over the course of my life, but never sat to watch the entire thing in one shot about a year and a half back, and was hooked. I had just moved to New York, was alone and struggling to find my place in the city so I went looking for a shadowcast. I mean, these were my friends and family who were pushing me to go so long ago, so they must have been onto something for me.

One Friday night in August of 2016 I came out, a know-nothing virgin about on par with the level of Jon Snow, and had a blast. Then I kept coming back, and kept coming back every week just to watch and scream. There were nights where I was the only voice and there were nights where I was just one voice in the sea of a crowd, but there I sat in the third row, third seat from the right every week. I had thought about putting in an application at one point, but decided that I would be much better served providing the participation for the crowd. Until one of the other audience members decided that they didn’t like the screaming and threw their water on me in disgust.

A brief chat with Meg about the incident turned into my interview, which turned into her prompting me the next week about why she hasn’t gotten my application, demanding it in her inbox. I filled it out the next day, and started the following week. They haven’t been able to get rid of me or my terrible, awful jokes ever since. These people are my NY family and I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for them bringing me on cast.

Marshall

Marshall is your local self-deprecating hype man, Donald Glover enthusiast, D&D dork, grooving dancing fool, horror fanatic, theatre nerd, Disney-cult follower, constant traveler, anthropologist artist, and boasts hitting 35k views on a tiktok video made last December (no he won’t show you which one). If you see him around, ask him about how much he loves Los Angeles & Houston, what jukebox musical(s) he’s writing, what his first message to you on tinder would be if you matched him, the practice of anthropology in horror movies, his mafia family of minotaurs in D&D 5e, or just whatever. He’s a dork, but he’s been told he’s a fun dork.

Saw RHPS the first time in 2015 in Los Angeles, then moved across the country, saw NYCRHPS and was like, “Yo… dope. I’m down.”

Meg

I came to a NYCRHPS performance when I was fifteen. All my friends and I were super into Rocky in high school and I HAD to see the show for real when I came to New York for Christmas that year. It was amazing and I was hooked!

I hadn't worked for a theatre crew for about a year before I joined and I missed it terribly. One weekend I went to see the show on a whim and spoke to Tom about working on the crew and joined a few weeks later. It was completely perfect for me because I had always loved the movie and show, and had the chance to get back into work that I loved and to meet lots of fantastic people!

Nick

I first saw few scenes of the Rocky Horror Picture Show when channel flipping when I was 8 or 9. The first Shadow Cast I saw was the now defunct Long Island Cast, The Unconventional Conventialists, in August 2011. I joined the Long Island Cast in February 2014 a week after seeing them perform because I had seen a few other Shadow Casts and had been wanting to join one for a while. I then joined NYC RHPS in May of 2016.

My Rocky Achievements include performing as a Transylvanian in The 40th Anniversary Convention at The Historic Ziegfeld Theatre in NYC in September 2015, performing as Dr Scott (Floorshow) at RKO Con 2 (The 41st Annual Rocky Horror Convention) in August 2016 and playing The Criminologist at RKO Con 3 in August 2019.

After going to 3 conventions and being part of this wonderful community for 5 years now I have to say my favorite part is seeing at the hard work everyone puts in to everything whether its costumes, props or other aspects.

Rain

I’m a Peruvian-born chick of Cuban heritage who was raised on all-American things like dreams and bad TV. When I was sixteen I made my mom take me to the midnight show in New York City. They got all Rocky Horror virgins (people whose first time it was seeing the show), to line up in front of the audience, and completely humiliate ourselves. I fell in love with the show instantly.

Years later I’m a big girl who doesn’t need to bring her confused Cuban family to get into the show anymore (gracias ma), and I turn in a cast application. You know the rest! There’s really nothing like the Rocky Horror Picture Show in New York. It is the funniest, most dedicated live rendition of the cult film. I came to see that anyone who loves horror-inspired gay space aliens and the night should come here.

When I’m not helping with the midnight show, I like to listen to music, collect records, and watch disturbing documentaries. I have an adorable cat named Blue who can’t come to the show because he’s underage. I love bootleg recordings of Broadway musicals on YouTube. One time I went on a date to an abandoned nuclear power plant with a boy who was carrying a veiled statue of a Mexican saint.

Ryan

Ryan had his first Rocky Horror experience in 2010, at the age of 14, when he saw it at The Palace Theatre, in his hometown of Syracuse, New York. He knew from that night on, his life had been changed forever. Since then, the words “Don’t Dream It, Be It” have been his life motto. In 2015, Ryan moved to NYC just a week after graduating cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell. In February of 2018 he finally joined the NYC Rocky Horror Cast, and fulfilled his dream role as Frank N Furter.

When Ryan isn’t wearing fishnets and doing the Time Warp, he is a licensed hairstylist and full time Broadway wig maker under the direction of Emmy nominee, Charles LaPointe. A small list of shows Ryan has worked on include: Hamilton, The Band’s Visit, The Cher Show and Ain’t Too Proud. Outside of his professional life, Ryan enjoys singing with The Stonewall Chorale, reading Buddhist literature, and is an animal rights activist and environmentalists.

I was forbidden to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show by my mom when I was about 12 but I had an actor friend who was playing Frank who I knew would SLAY and I was not about to miss out on that. My dad took me in secret and we had the most incredible time... until I ran into my girl scout troop leader. I was grounded for a month.

I ran away to NYC for school and found the nearest cast to bother with my presence until they finally let me join. Persistence is key, but it also helps if they recognize you. Lace-fronts and excellent makeup skills prevented them from realizing I was the same person coming every weekend for nearly six months.

Stephanie

Then: I first watched Rocky Horror in 2008 at a friend's Rocky-themed birthday party. The very next day, I was driving around South Florida in my minivan, blasting the soundtrack on a mix CD (y'all remember CDs?) I burned that morning.

Now: I joined NYC RHPS cast back in 2014 —about 6 months after graduating college / moving to the city— and it's one of the best personal, professional, and creative decisions I've ever made.

PSA: Do you work in an office all day? Are you itching to push yourself creatively and make lifelong friends from diverse backgrounds? Do it. Push yourself! Joining this band of weirdos and performers made me a better leader, and a more confident human.

Victoria

Victoria joined NYC RHPS in October 2017 shortly after turning eighteen and moving to the city, where she is a student at New York University. She saw Rocky Horror for the first time as a twelve-year-old during her first year at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, where she later performed as Columbia in her final year (Class of 2016). When she returns to her hometown for holidays, she performs with Frankie’s Midnight Runners in Wilmington, Delaware.

Victoria regards her decision to join NYC RHPS as one of the most irresponsible, reckless, and greatest decisions she has ever made. She loves being the “littlest cinnamon roll” of the cast, and hopes to continue to be so for many moons to come.
